About Transtrade Marketing Private Limited (TTM)
The company was founded in 1990, by Late SK Nayar and Mr Soumitra Sen, the present Chairman and Managing Director, who had a background of a number of years in shipping and freight forwarding, having worked with premier shipping lines and agencies, based out of Kolkata. Transtrade was actively involved in exporting of wooden period Jodhpur furniture to Europe and hand knitted sweaters to Ireland and Japan.
Thereafter, in 1998, the company diversified and took up the agency for India and Nepal for Tea Bag Filter Paper and other Specialised Non Woven Papers, being manufactured by M/s Schoeller & Hoesch GmbH & Co KG, Germany, which was subsequently taken over in early 2000 by M/s Glatfelter Gernsbah GmbH & Co KG, Germany.
Transtrade started by selling totally 3 Tons of paper in 1998, has now grown to over 800 Tons per year as of date comprising of Tea Bag Filter Paper and Battery Pasting Paper with leading companies such as Madhu Jayanti International Ltd, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Exide Industries Ltd, Tata Consumer Products Ltd and some others.
Transtrade closed down its export of furniture and hand knitted sweaters due to logistics and concentrated completely building itself as a key felicitator to the tea bag manufacturing industry in India and Nepal.
In 2017, Transtrade partnered and were appointed exclusive agents for Teepack Spezialmaschinen GmbH & Co KG. Germany, for sales, services and marketing of all of their Tea Bag Manufacturing Machines in India and Nepal.
Teepack are not only world leaders for tea bag machines, but also the inventor of Tea bag machines, beginning with the well-known work-horse, Constanta 250 Machine. Today, Transtrade Marketing, due to its efforts and complete support of Teepack have sold a number new-age Constanta 250 Machine in India and Nepal starting from the first installation in June 2023.
